Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Authoritative Content, LLC ("we", "us") collects when you use Teen Drug Rehabs and the other directory websites we operate, how we use it, and the choices you have. We don't sell your personal information.
Who We Are and What This Covers
Teen Drug Rehabs is operated by Authoritative Content, LLC, [company mailing address]. We run a group of directory websites that help people find addiction and mental health treatment. This policy applies to all of them, and to the forms, owner accounts, and advertiser services on them.
We are a directory and information service. We are not a health care provider, and we are not a "covered entity" under HIPAA. Treatment facilities you contact through our sites have their own privacy practices.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
- Messages and requests — your name, email, phone number, and what you write when you use our contact form, request a listing change, or ask about advertising.
- Owner and advertiser accounts — your email, name, role, and the facilities you manage.
- Payments — advertiser payments are processed by Square. Card numbers are entered in Square's secure form and never reach our servers; we keep only the card brand, last four digits, and billing status.
Please don't send us medical details. We don't need them to help you find a facility.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage and device information — pages viewed, the site you came from, browser and device type, and your IP address, as recorded by our servers and our analytics tool (see Analytics).
- Approximate location — we estimate your city or state from your IP address using a location database stored on our own servers (GeoLite2 by MaxMind). Your IP address isn't sent to anyone to do this, and we don't collect precise (GPS) location.
- Location you choose — if you set a location on our site, we remember it in a cookie.
- Listing and call statistics — we count profile views, clicks, and taps on phone numbers to report totals to facilities and advertisers. These counts aren't tied to your identity.
- Tracked phone calls — some phone numbers on our sites are tracking numbers that forward to a treatment provider (see "Call tracking" below).
Call Tracking
Some numbers on our sites, including sponsored helplines, are tracking numbers provided through Twilio that forward your call to the provider named next to the number. When you call one, we record the date and time, the number you called, the provider it was forwarded to, the call's length and outcome, the state your phone number is registered in, and the last four digits of your phone number plus a one-way code that lets us count repeat callers without storing your full number.
We don't record or listen to calls. Providers you speak with may keep their own records.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use Teen Drug Rehabs as a whole: which pages are visited, how people find us, and where the site isn't working well. When a page loads it, Google receives the address of the page, the page you came from, your browser and device type, and your IP address. It stores a cookie in your browser so repeat visits can be counted. We see this information only in totals; it isn't used to identify you.
We've set up Google Analytics so the data isn't used for advertising: Google signals, ads personalization, and data sharing with other Google products are turned off, and it isn't linked to any advertising account.
We don't load analytics:
- if you've opted out on our Your Privacy Choices page, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal;
- for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland;
- on pages about treatment (facility listings, search results, articles, and location pages) for visitors in Washington or Nevada;
- on our Your Privacy Choices page, privacy request pages, review forms, listing claims, or owner accounts.
You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
How We Use Information
- To run the directory, including showing listings and ads relevant to your approximate location.
- To respond to messages and review listing requests.
- To operate owner and advertiser accounts, process payments, and send receipts and service emails.
- To measure and report how listings and ads perform, in totals.
- To keep our sites secure, prevent spam and fraud, and meet legal obligations.
We don't use information about what you view to build advertising profiles about you, and we don't show ads based on your health interests — location-based ads use only your approximate location or the location you choose.
Consumer Health Data
Some state laws, such as Washington's My Health My Data Act and Nevada's consumer health data law, treat information that could reveal someone's health interest — like visiting a treatment directory — as consumer health data. For those purposes:
- What we collect — the categories described above, which may show that you looked at treatment options.
- Why — only to provide the directory, respond to you, keep our sites secure, and report totals to facilities and advertisers.
- Who receives it — only the service providers listed above (including our analytics provider, which receives the address of the pages you view, but not for visitors in Washington or Nevada on pages about treatment), the facility you choose to contact, or as required by law.
- We don't sell it, we don't use it for targeted advertising, and we don't collect precise location.
- Your rights — you can ask whether we have your consumer health data, see it, have it deleted, or withdraw consent, as described below.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep messages and requests for as long as needed to handle them and for our records, usually up to two years. We keep account and billing records for as long as the account is active and as required for tax and accounting. Statistics are kept as totals. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security. We keep records of privacy requests and opt-outs for at least 24 months, as the law requires.
Your Choices and Rights
- Access, correct, or delete — use the request form on our Your Privacy Choices page, or email [privacy/legal email], to ask what information we have about you, or to correct or delete it. We'll verify the request and respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days).
- Location — you can change or clear a location you set at any time, and you can use the site without setting one.
- Emails — service emails to owners and advertisers are needed to run your account; you can stop any optional emails using the link in them.
- Opt out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising — we don't sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, but you can opt out anyway on our Your Privacy Choices page (linked at the bottom of every page), and we'll keep your choice on record. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as an opt-out, wherever you live; if you're signed in to an owner account, we save it on the account too.
- State privacy rights — depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Washington, or Nevada), you may have additional rights, including the right to appeal a decision about your request. To appeal, reply to our response or email [privacy/legal email]. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, restricted access, and keeping payment card details off our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our sites are meant for adults looking for treatment for themselves or someone else. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes and Contact
We'll post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date below; for significant changes, we'll give more prominent notice. Questions or requests: email [privacy/legal email], use our contact form, or write to Authoritative Content, LLC, [company mailing address].
